The most important question on earth is who am I, and the greatest discovery in life is the discovery of one’s true self. This article seeks to help you answer this question and also inculcate in you the hunger for discovering your true self. Discovering who you are is discovering your true source (where you came from), your potentials and abilities, your position or authority, your purpose and power. Now let me tell you a profound story which will give you a clear picture of what I want to tell you.
Once upon a time in the history of mankind there lived a king and his kingdom. The king had a four year old graceful son who was loved by everyone who set eye on him. The king dearly loved his son since he was his first son and therefore next of kin to his throne. Unfortunately, due to some mysterious circumstances the son got lost. The king used all his power to do all he could but he could not get back his dearly beloved son. The son was found by some traders who had gone to trade and were going back to their village and they took the young prince along to their village. He lived in that village till he was 20yrs. He was cultured by the villagers and therefore took the norms and values of the villagers. He was raised as a slave and thought like a slave. He had believed that those villagers were his family; he had lost his identity and taken on a false one. He had come to believe that he is a villager a slave a nobody who has no power or anything significant to offer in life. Mysteriously once again he found himself working in the palace where he was born as a servant following his departure from the village in pursuit of a better life. This young prince worked in the palace where he was supposed to be a prince as a servant, he ate food meant for servants, had no power or rights in the palace, drunk from the cup of servants, The royal family treated him like any other servant and he accepted it. The lost prince remained a servant until his last breath on earth. When his father died he was succeeded by one of the family members and the lost prince served him as his servant. What a tragedy. Unfortunately, this has been the story of many people. We are born to inherit the earth, to live as kings and rule and subdue the earth and inprint our will on earth but many have been reduced to slaves in life due to the ignorance of who they truly are. Now these are the lessons that I gathered from this story:
The amount of power you exercise in life is not dependent on the amount of power you have but rather on the amount of power you know and believe you possess. This means that you might have power or authority to do something or to control something and make something happen and might not be able to use it if you are not aware of it. This means that not knowing who you truly are limits your power or even at worse takes away your power just like the lost prince.
Not knowing who you are also strips off your rights. This is because if you don’t know your rights you cannot demand them. The lost prince had the right to be treated as a prince. He had the right to dress as a royalty, to sleep like one, to eat like one and also had the right to succeed his father, but he could exercise none of it because of his ignorance of who he truly was. Ignorance of our abilities, gifts, potentials and purpose is a result of our ignorance of who we truly are. Ignorance of these things usually results in laziness and boredom. you cannot use an ability or potential that you are ignorant of.This can best be explained with the statement made by an English writer called James Allen, he said, “the will to do springs from the knowledge that we can do.” This simply means you will be much more willing to do something that you know you can than that which you don’t know you can. Most of the time people are lazy not because they want to be lazy but because they don’t know what they can do, they are unaware of their gifts and potentials. So my question to you right now is could it be that you have the potential to own your own bank but yet might work in another person’s bank till you die? Could it be that you have the ability to become the secretory of the United Nations but might work as a teacher in your entire life? You see the things that you reach out for in life are largely dependent on your knowledge of your abilities, gifts and potentials. So what can you truly do? Remember the lost prince had the power and the ability and the right by birth to reach out for the throne of his father after his death but he could not because he didn’t know he had the power to. How far can you go in life? What are your gifts and potentials? What are you truly made of? These questions must be answered by you if you want to live a fulfilling life. It is also very important to know that it is possible to believe you are something you are not.
Most of the time what we have come to believe about ourselves are what our family members, teachers and friends told us. But are they the right people to tell us who we are? So then who is the right person to tell you who you are and what you can do and how far you can go. The answer to these questions is simple but has eluded many people. If I give you a device of which you know nothing of, you don’t know what it is, what it can do and what it is made up of. Who do you think would be the right person to find out from? Me. right? Why? Because I am the one who gave it to you and the one who made it. if you want to know the potential of a Toyota car, its horse power, its capacity and you want to understand how it works then I believe the best person to go to is the Toyota company. So then if you want to know who you truly are then you must go to the one who made you. The one who gave you life is the right person to tell you why he gave it to you. He is the person to tell you what you can do and cannot do, how far you can go in life, your ability, power, gifts and potentials. Therefore God is the answer to these questions. He made us and he knows what he put in us, he knows our capacity and ability on earth.

THE STATE OF ALL MEN (DISCOVERING YOUR AUTHORITY AND POWER)
God created earth for man to inhabit and control it.
Genesis 1:26 is a proof of this. The
fact that He created every other thing before creating us is enough evidence
that the earth was created for us. But not only was it created for us, we are
supposed to dominate it. We are supposed to make it be what we want it to be. Genesis
1:28 is the proof of this. Revelation 1:6 and 5:10 also makes it very clear that
we are kings. He put his spirit in man so He could rule the earth through man. Actually
this is Gods original plan, to rule the earth through mankind by putting his
spirit in us. Therefore the purpose of the Holy Spirit in man is to teach him
the will of God so he can apply it on earth. This was short circuited by the
fall of Adam
Now the Holly spirit who was in man which was
supposed to rule the earth through man left man because man was contaminated
with sin and therefore man lost his ability to rule over the earth.
Jesus Christ came to die for men and His blood
purifying and washing away all our sins making our body clean again to make it
possible for the Holy Spirit to come and live in us. So now all people who have
accepted him He has come to live in them.
Therefore we have received back that which enables
us to rule the earth again. This gives man the ultimate power and makes him the
ultimate authority over the earth. I can boldly say that the children of God
are the highest authority on earth. We are therefore superior to everything on
earth. We are here to rule with the will of God which will be taught us by the
Holly Spirit. We are here to impose the will of God. We are here to make things
happen and not to watch things happen
We are born to express his glory (the beauty of the
true nature of God) on earth. God’s ultimate purpose for making man and putting
him on earth is to rule the earth through him. This is the reason why he
planted his spirit in us. Whatever happens on earth whether good or bad is
therefore in the hands of man. Man has therefore been given the power to become
and do whatever he wants on earth. But he is accountable to God at the end of
his life on earth for the power he is given. Who do you want to become? What do
you want to do? The power is in your hands.

Right Mindset The Ultimate Key To success
Your progress in life begins in your own mind and ends in the same
place (Napoleon Hill)
Power of the mind: I
read a story about a man who sold his land to migrate to a neighboring town. He
heard that the neighboring town had discovered diamond which induced his
migration. It happens that the man who bought the land later discovered
diamonds which worth millions of dollars.
He sold his land to migrate to another town in pursuit of diamond not
knowing there were acres of diamond sitting right where he was living. As I was
reading this story I figured this unfortunate man is not the only one who will
ever face this situation. This has happened to many people and is still
happening to many people today. There are many people who are wandering from
places to places; from jobs to jobs in pursuit of power and riches whiles power
and riches sit right in front of their noses. Power and riches are not anywhere
far from us friends it is right in-between our two ears. In our mind lie great
powers and great riches. Our mind is the most powerful tool on earth. Today one
can move from one country to the other in minutes. You can talk to a friend in
another continent and watch him as he talks. People travel to the moon and other
planets. All these are done through the power of the mind. Look around you
everything that you see excluding the natural things like the sun all the other
things like the jet, cars, roads computers all these things were made by the
human mind. The human brain can store 100 trillion facts and it can handle
15000 decisions a second. If man were to
attempt to create a human brain it will cost billions of dollars and it will
require electricity of thousands of cities.
The mind is that powerful. One unfortunate thing I have discovered in
life is that men don’t often visit their mind, men simply don’t think. Every
single problem that man can face can be solved by his mind. I don’t know who
you are or where you are or the challenges you might be facing but I can
promise you one thing if you can sit down and decide who you want to be and
what you want to achieve and device a plan to achieve those goals then you’ll
realize nothing truly is impossible. If you can sit down and think through your
problem then you’ll see that there is no problem that the mind cannot solve.
There is no difference between a man and his mentality (Felix Boakye
Yiadom)
The mind as a garden: cultivating
the right mentality is the ultimate key to success but to achieve this there is
one thing we must know- that the mind
work like a garden you reap the fruit of the seed that you sow in it. This
means that if you are reaping bad fruit that means you sowed bad seeds in your
garden (your mind). This is what the most wise man ever to grace the earth
apart from Jesus meant when he said “as a man thinketh in his heart so is he”.
For example if you plant mango seed in your garden and make sure you control
the weeds, fertilize it and water it, what would you expect to reap at the end of
the day? Mango fruits, right? No doubt about that. So is your mind, your
thoughts are like the seed which you plant and your thoughts sums up to be your
mindset and your mindset determines the outcome of your life which is the
fruit. Your mindset is simply the way you think and it is the sum of your
thoughts so if you can change your thought you change the way you think and
this will change the way you live and therefore will change your life. In
numbers chapter 13 Moses sent 12 spies to spy on the land that God promised the
Israelites. Ten of the twelve came back and said they cannot take the land
because the people in the land are giants and therefore they are like
grasshoppers in their site. Two came back and said to Moses lets go and take
the land it is full of milk and honey. Is this not amazing both group went to
the same place but saw different things. The ten think the land is full of
giants and therefore concluded that they cannot take the land but two think the
land is full of milk and honey and therefore they should go and take the land.
The point here is that their mindset determined their conclusion. Such is life
we all live in the same world but whiles others see milk and honey and go for
it others see giants and get stuck in their poverty. Most of the millionaires
that we have today were born poor, some were born in poor countries and poor neighborhood
but their mindset was that though they were born in poor families they can
still become whoever they want to become, they believed in their dreams and
opened their mind to the good things the world has to offer and therefore they
became rich. Some people also think that they were born in a poor family or a
poor country and therefore they cannot be successful in life and even if they
try to they will have no one to support them, they even think the world is
cruel and therefore has nothing good to offer. People who think like this
automatically end up poor. The secret here is that if you see milk and honey
you’ll be encouraged and if you see giants you’ll be discouraged. I always say
that you’ll never make effort or attempt to be successful until you think you
can be successful and must be successful.
The one who invented incandescent bulb tried it over
thousand times till he eventually succeeded. When he was asked why after many
failures he continued he said he did not fail over thousand times but he
discovered over thousand times how not to invent the bulb. Someone tries to do
something in life about three times and fails and that is it he stops and say
it is not meant to be or it is the devil. You see different mindset different
mentality. If Thomas Edison had stop and said it is the devil or it is not
meant to be because he failed over thousand times do you think he could have
succeeded inventing the bulb. The difference between the rich and the poor the
successful and unsuccessful is not money is their mindset
There is no handicap
except that of our minds. There is no limit to our potential except that which
is self-imposed. (Dr. Myles Munroe)
The key therefore is to cultivate the right mindset. If I
say right mindset I mean positive mentality towards life. The bible says that “do
not conform to this world but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind”.
Romans 12:2. You see God knows that to be transformed you must renew your mind
and as long as you think the same way you always think you’ll do the same
things you always do and therefore get the same result you always get. Your
actions are the result of your way of thinking and the outcome of your life are
the result of your actions. Your actions are directly under the influence of
your mindset.
Let’s take the lion and the buffalo for example, the buffalo
is stronger than the lion, he is heavier than the lion, he is taller than the
lion and he is more powerful than the lion. Most of the buffalo’s even out
numbers the lions and yet with all these advantages when he sees the lion it
flee. When the lion sees the buffalo it attacks it. So the question is how the
lion get the courage to attack the buffalo regardless of all the disadvantages
it has compared with the buffalo? And why do the buffalo flee whenever it sees
the lion regardless of its advantages over the lion? The answer is mindset. The
lion thinks it can eat the buffalo and therefore when it sees the buffalo it
attacks it. The lion does not consider the size of the buffalo or the strength
all that it thinks of when it meets the buffalo is food. This is why the lion
is the king of the jungle, not because it is the strongest or the tallest or
the fastest or the most brilliant but because it knows what it want and go for
it regardless of what stands in its way. Some people always consider the
negative things in their life, like, I don’t have money, I was born in a poor
home I was born in a poor country, I didn’t go to proper school, I don’t have
anyone to help me and so on and so forth no be like the lion figure out what
you want device a plan for it and go for it. It doesn’t matter what stands in
your way. The lion behave the way it behaves because of the way it thinks. If
it should start thinking about how big the buffalo and how strong it is, then
it will be discouraged and therefore will not attack it. If you begin to think
that you can be successful and begin to realize how important you are to the
world and you begin to think in terms of adding value to the world and solving
her problems that will be the beginning of a healthy and abundant living. The
same way, the buffalo flees whenever it sees the lion because it thinks the
lion can eat it. Even though the buffalo is stronger, taller, larger and more
powerful than the lion, it flees from it because of what it thinks about it. You
see it is not about how big you are or how small you are, it is not about how
intelligent you are or where you come from or how rich you are or how educated
you are it is about how you think about yourself and the world. It is not your
family nor your educational background nor your country nor pocket that makes
you small it your mentality that makes you small.
I read an interesting and enlightening story about a lost
lion cab (infant lion) that was found by a shepherd. The shepherd raised the
young cab with the sheep and therefore it grew up to believe it was sheep. One day
the shepherd sent them to the river bank to drink and they were attacked by a
lion and the flock flees but the most interesting thing is that the young lion
fled with the flock. This happened again and again from time to time until one
day the lion which was raised with the flock was drinking and saw his image in
the water. The lion was very surprised at what he saw in the water because it
looked exactly as the beast he has been running from. So the next day the lion
from the forest game again to attack the flock but this time the young lion
didn’t run but stood to face the other lion. From that day the lion left the
flock and joined the other lion to the forest. He then started attacking other
animals and did not run away from other lions. The light I got from this story
is that you can behave like a sheep even if you are a lion if you don’t know
you are one. It doesn’t matter how great or how intelligent or how powerful or
how many gift and potentials you have if you don’t have the mentality of these
things you can never be so. Until the lion discovered the right image of itself
in the water it never behave like one and therefore never became one. Again the
lion behaved like a sheep because it thought it was one. These two statements tell
us that you eventually become the image you hold of yourself and what you think
you are. If you start thinking and believing you are rich and successful you’ll
eventually become one and it doesn’t matter where you are born or your family. I
can therefore say with confidence that you are who you think you are. And you
can only change who you are only when you change who you think you are.
So now the question is how you cultivate the right
mentality. The best way to cultivate the right mindset for successful living is
reading and meditating on the word of God the Bible. The Bible has the power to
change and transform you to who you really are. If I give you an apple phone
and you don’t know how to use it and what to use it for, whom or where do you
think is the right place to go. I believe the right people to go to is the apple
producers or to use the manual of the phone. Why? Because it is only the
producers of the phone who knows what it can be used for and how it can be
used. They therefore give you the manual to guide you use the phone
effectively. God is the creator of all mankind and therefore if we want to know
who we are and what we can do then we will have to read and understand the
manual which is the Bible. The Bible will give you the right picture or
mentality of who you are and what you can do. Reading and meditating on the
bible will bring you to the great and wonderful you that God created and change
all the negative thoughts you have to positive. In fact the bible put it this
way, “but we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the
lord(the word of God), are changed into the same image from Glory to glory,
even as by the spirit of the Lord(2corinthians 3:18). Also read books and
articles that will inspire, motivate and challenge you to be the best that you
can. Befriend people who have high self-image people who believe in themselves.
People like this can motivate and inspire you to develop a higher self-image. Never
befriend people who don’t believe in you but rather people who will believe in
you even when you do not believe in yourself. Always pray to God for guidance
and have faith in his word. Success cannot be rushed or fast forward but it can
be guaranteed and the best way to do that is to program your mind for success
by feeding it with the right information and exposing it to the right
environment and people. You have all the potential and the ability to become
successful but you need the right mindset to back it. When you cultivate the
right believe and mindset, failure becomes an
impossibility.Sunday, 10 November 2013
the secret about success
The world is filled with two types of people the rich and the poor. I
have wondered why some people are very in some cases poor and some
people are very rich in some cases. Some people say the rich or the
successful people are successful because they are lucky, and the poor or
the unsuccessful people are unlucky. Some people also think they are
poor because it is their fate. They think they are born to be poor, and
that, it is their destiny to be poor. They also think the rich are rich
because it is their destiny and fate. They think the rich are born to be
rich. Some also think that the poor are poor because there are some
negative forces like witchcraft and demons that work against them. And
the rich are the ones that have obtain favour from the Lord. Simply put
the rich are blessed.
Well, let’s take each one of the statements above and examine them. The first one that I will like us to take is the luck factor. Let’s take this story as an example. There were two friends who lived in a poor village but very beautiful environment. Both of them had a dream to be a doctor. Their names were Kofi and Kwame and they were both labourers on a farm. Kofi because of his dream to be a doctor worked hard and tried his best to save as much as he can. Because of his savings he was able to further his education. He used some of his savings to buy books about successful doctors. He took his time to read these books and focused on his education. Things sometimes became very rough and hard, but because of his passion for his dream he persisted and persevered. He even starved himself sometimes to use the money to pay his school fees and buy books to read. On the other hand Kwame wasted all his money on women and alcohol. Even though he had the dream, he didn’t make any effort to make his dream a success. The conclusion is Kofi ended up becoming a doctor, a successful one as such. Kwame ended up even at the age of 45 as a farm labourer. One day they met at Kofi’s house where his mother was present. They were discussing about their old life when Kofi’s mother asked them, why that you both started the same and yet Kofi is successful and Kwame is not. Kwame off course the first to react said, scratching his head, “well he was lucky, that’s why, but I wasn’t lucky at all, mother, things went very bad”. Kofi just shook his head and smiled.
So can Kofi’s success be described as luck? Here is the thing, there are laws and principles that govern the universe, and one of these laws is the law of cause and effect. It states that, to every effect there is a cause and to every cause there is an effect. It simply means that every condition, whether rich or poor, sad or happy that you are in is caused by an action that took place in your life. It means that everything that happens in our life is caused by something that we did whether consciously or unconsciously in the past. The truth is Kofi didn’t succeed because he was lucky but because of the kind of life he lived. He put passion and energy in his dream and worked very hard to make it work. Kwame on the other hand wasted his life and money on women and alcohol. Kwame’s’ poverty therefore wasn’t caused by not having luck but was caused by the way he lived his life. The point is nothing happens in life by chance. No one become successful by chance. Things happen to us in life by our choices. Whatever condition you may be in right now was caused by some choices you made some years ago. The condition of your life in the future, whether you become poor or rich will be caused by the choices you make today. We should always remember that we only reap what we sow. what you put or invest in life is what you get or reap in life. “Garbage in garbage out” Some people sows poverty in life and they expect to reap success. I mean you cannot invest in women and alcohol and expect to reap success. “To every action there is equal and opposite reaction”. So if you are getting poverty reaction or sickness reaction, it simply means that your actions to life are poverty and sickness. Remember the reaction is equal only that it is opposite. There is also nothing in this world like nothing for something. It is always something for something. If you put nothing into life, you get nothing out of life. You ONLY get something out of life ONLY when you put something into life. And what you get out of life is determined solely by what you put into life. You sow cocoa you reap cocoa not mango.Another worrying and untrue ideology of many people is that rich or successful people are destined to be successful or in other words it’s their fate to be successful. And also it is the fate or destiny of some people to be unsuccessful. Let’s use Kwame and Kofi’s story once again. Was Kofi destined to be successful and Kwame destined to be unsuccessful? The answer is NO. Why? In the first place, what is destiny? Destiny simply means the end. It means the end of each and every one of us, whether you are born to be a teacher or a doctor that is your end. Therefore destiny means the purpose for which we were born in other words what God created us to do on earth. So if you say that it’s someone’s destiny to be poor you mean God intentionally created that person to be poor. God never intend for anyone to be poor or to suffer in life. What kind of God will our God be if he purposely and intently created some people to suffer in life and some people to prosper in life? God loves all people irrespective of their background he created each and every one of us and he loves us equally. Jeremiah 29:11 can prove to us that God intention for all of us is to live a healthy and a vibrant life. God says and I quote “I know the thought and plans I have for you, plans for welfare (prosperity) and peace (sound mind, confident in life) and not for evil (poverty, sickness, infirmities etc.), to give you hope in your final outcome (destiny or future). From Jeremiah 29:11 we can deduce that God’s intention for us is to live life of everlasting peace and prosperity but not poverty and sickness. Therefore God intend for everyone to be successful.
The question here is why then do some people end up very poor and unsuccessful. God created human beings in other words living beings not robots. God gave human beings their will to make decisions and make choices. I repeat God did not create robots. God does not control us like robots, he does not impose his will on us. For example God does not force anyone to accept Jesus Christ as his lord and personal saviour. God does not force anyone to be his son or even to obey him. Every human have the power to make any decision or choice he wills to make. Have you ever ask yourself why the all-powerful God allow some people not to obey him or even perish. So does God not have the power to make everyone believe in him or obey him? The answer is God has the power to make everyone believe and obey him but he will not or he does not because it takes away our will as humans. It will only make us look like robots and I don’t think God will like robots as his children.
The truth is God wills that everyone becomes his child and yet not all of us are his children. Men have their own will, they can decide to follow the will of God or not and God will never force us. And we suffer the consequences of our choices. For example, God gave his son to die for us and he says whoever believes in him shall have life and whoever does not believe in him shall perish the choice is yours. God wills that we all believe in his son and yet some have chosen not to. This explains that God does not impose his will on us. this is the point am trying to make, God wills that everyone live a successful, a happy and a vibrant life just as he wills that all souls be saved but this can only happen when we choose to live according to his will. God created the earth, he knows how the earth functions and He has given us his word to live by it to be successful, whether we live by it or not depends on us.
God says in psalm 1:1-3 that blessed (happy, fortunate, prosperous, and enviable) is the man who walks and lives not in the counsel of the ungodly nor stands in the path where sinners walk, nor sits down where the scornful and the mockers gather. 2 but his delight and desire are in the law of the Lord, and on His law (the precepts, the instructions, the teachings of God) he habitually meditates (ponders and studies) by day and by night. 3 and he shall be like a tree firmly planted by the streams of water, ready to bring forth its fruit in its season; its leaf also shall not fade or wither; and everything he does shall prosper. From the verses above, God is simply saying that meditate and obey my word and you will be successful. Someone may decide to meditate and obey Gods word and he will be successful. And someone may decide the opposite and will be a failure. So can you say that the one who decide to obey Gods word will become successful because of fate or destiny? Probably yes every one of us has the destiny to be successful but our choices endorse our destiny. This simply means that you can choose to follow your destiny or not; man has the power change his destiny. Therefore successful people choose to follow their destiny whiles failures rewrite their destiny by their choices. He knows that if he wants to be successful he has to follow God’s precepts and therefore he has chosen to follow God’s precepts which means he has chosen to be successful in other words he has chosen to follow his destiny. Success once again is not attain by chance but is attain by choice. Ask any failure and he will tell you success is by chance. Ask any successful man and he will tell you success is by choice. I sincerely believe that failures think that success is by chance that’s why they fail and successful people think success is by choice that’s why they succeed.
I conclude by saying this; the entire necessary ingredient needed to cook the food of success has been given to us by God, whether we cook it or not depend on us and us only. God will help only if you allow him to. The first step to success is therefore to believe that success is possible for everyone but not for some few people. The second step is to know that you are responsible for your own success. The third step is to make a firm decision to be successful after this you have one big question to answer; how do I become successful? I will be posting more articles on how one can attain success. You can visit this blog every month to read more articles on success. Never forget this; with God all things are possible. Include God in anything that you do and you shall be a blessing.

THE ESSENCE OF KNOWING YOUR PURPOSE
Everything that God created, he created it for a purpose. All through the Holy Scriptures it is proven that God is the God of purpose and that he has a reason behind everything he created. The ant, the worm, the flies every single thing created was created for a reason, both living and non-living. Now if there is a purpose for the ant, then you know that there is a purpose for every man. Jeremiah 1:4-5 says “then the word of the Lord came to me saying: before I formed you in the womb I knew you; before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations”. Here God is telling us that before we were even conceive in our mother’s womb, He had already prepared a work for us to do. As matter of fact it is because of the work that he has prepared for us that demanded our birth. Ephesians 2:10 throws more light on this, it says “for we are His workmanship created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them”. This verse also confirms that God has a work or a purpose which he wants us to fulfill. For example in the olden days they were using a system called Barter-trade to exchange goods and services. This system had numerous shortcomings so they needed a medium that could solve those problems hence the invention of money. Therefore money was invented to solve a problem or to fulfill a need, so are we. The point that am trying to make here is that there is a work that needed to be done that triggered your creation and hence your birth.
Now, deep within us, we know that we are here for a purpose. Someone may ask, why do I need to know my purpose? What is the essence of living in my purpose? Ephesians 5:17 says and I quote “therefore do not be vague and thoughtless and foolish but understand and firmly grasp what the will of the lord is”. This simply means that anyone who does not make any effort to know and live in the will or the purpose of God for his life is foolish or unwise. When you read the verse 16 it says “live purposely”. This proves that knowing our purpose is very important to God. This is because He created us for his purpose or his will and we can only bring him glory by living in His purpose.
There are so many benefits a person enjoys when he comes to know his purpose in life. First of all when you discover your purpose it will preserve your time and energy. When you know what you are born to do you’ll not waste your time on things you are not supposed to do. I know a friend who went to the tertiary and read geology and later he realized that that is not his field. He then diverted into the field of agriculture and there too was not his field. He later realized that his assignment or purpose on earth is to be a pastor. He then has to start all over again. The point is if he had known the call on his life earlier on; he wouldn’t have wasted his time on geology and agric. So not only does knowing purpose help you save your time and energy but it also help you stay focus in life. If you don’t know what you stand for you’ll fall for anything. Purpose will help you know what you stand for so that you don’t fall for anything.
Purpose also prevents the abuse of potentials. When you know your purpose it helps know what you are supposed to do with your gift and talent so you don’t use them for the wrong things. In other words purpose protects your gifts and talents.
Purpose gives stability to life. When things are bad, when things in life starts to look ugly you’ll not have to worry because you know where you are going. When people starts to give up you still hold on because you know your destination. Purpose therefore gives us peace and sound mind. You went to meet a friend watching a horror movie which was at its climax. After watching the climax of the movie, you decided to watch the movie all over again. The things in the movie would not frighten you again because you already know the end. Knowing your purpose is the same because to know your purpose is to know your destiny.
Purpose is again the key to fulfillment. Fulfillment is to accomplish a desired end and purpose also means the desired end. Therefore to be fulfilled is to live in your purpose. You are only fully alive only when you are living in your purpose, for purpose gives meaning to live.
Purpose is the key to success. I believe that all the necessary provisions needed to succeed in life have been given to us by God, but these provisions can only be found in our purpose. For example if your parents want you to do science and become a doctor, they will definitely make sure that they pay your fees and buy the books and provide all necessary provisions needed for you to do science and become a doctor- why, Because they want you to become a doctor. The same applies to God, when you walk in his will for your life which is your purpose, he will give you all the necessary provision to succeed in life. Your success is therefore in your purpose.
